Gypsum rotary kiln is a kiln for continuous processes in thermal and process technology. It consists of gear ring, support roller, rotating cylinder (around its axis) and stationary product infeed and discharge housing.

It is generally used for calcination - separation and evaporation of bound water from hydrates and crystalline products - and other thermal treatment on various substances with the purpose of changing their molecular or chemical composition.

Great Wall Machinery builds direct heated Gypsum rotary kilns for process temperatures up to 1,600 °C. Direct heat transfer to the product is achieved in a hot gas stream flowing through the drum dryer’s product chamber. It is also possible to utilize the waste heat from a downstream product cooler (e.g. Recuperative Multi-Tube Cooler) or even the waste gases from other processes.

Typical application cases:

Petroleum coke
White pigments
Active carbon
Catalysts
Special waste etc.
